I live with the greatest rabbit in the world, and my soul mate-, the man I will be spending the rest of my life with. I have lots of amazing friends and three wonderful boyfriends and yes, I know just how lucky I am! I've worked in IT for many years and an currently CEO of a small ISP, and I love my job!

The best way to get to know me, other than in person, is through my LiveJournal, and my web page has a handy "users guide to Baerana"

I tend to be somewhat obsessed with rabbits and their welfare

I'm very far left of center, but not a vegetarian (i'm practically a carnivore). Nor am I spiritual - I am an atheist/secular humanist and believe in nothing supernatural. I care for the environment which is why I support nuclear and solar energy. I am a Libertarian in most things. I believe the federal government should exist only to enforce inalienable rights, such as the right to travel between states, and to regulate treaties between states, such as a postal system and common money. Otherwise, it should stay out of our lives! All other responsibilities and rights should fall to the states. Fiscally, I am very liberal. I want good roads, schools, and health care for all, and I don't mind my (state) taxes paying for it. I don't want people to suffer, and if they legitimately can't provide for themselves, the community should help them. I am for same sex marriage rights, I'm more-or-less neutral regarding gun control and I'm anti-drug laws (it's a health issue, not a political issue). I'm pro-choice and strongly feminist (real feminism, which is about equality, not hating men)

And chances are, like it or not, you are a feminist, too!

"Who has turned feminism into a dirty word? One of the things that bugs the s**t out of me is the fact that we can't even use the word "feminist" these days. It's been made taboo by a conservative media. The feminist movement in this country is one of the most powerful human liberation movements the planet has seen... so, to let this sort of conservative culture steal the feminist history from our consciousness and steal the respect from the people who fought and died so we could have such liberty is a travesty."

"All decent people, male and female, are feminists. The only people who are not feminists are those who believe that women are inherently inferior or undeserving of the respect and opportunity afforded men. Either you are a feminist or you are a sexist/misogynist. There is no box marked "other"."
- 2 personal quotes from Ani Difranco, aka, Ani D

I agree with the above quotes, but I would amend, that women who think women are superior to men or deserving of special rights aren't feminists, either. Since it IS about equality.

I have tons of hobbies and interests. I collect books, key chains, and toys (mostly Care Bears.) I also have a pressed penny and postcard collection going, so if any of my friends takes a trip, one of those would be the perfect present to bring me! I'm interested in memetics, little known holidays, urban legends, gender and women's studies, psychology (my current psychology project is the psychology of lying, including microexpressions), hacking and mind hacking, philosophy, logic and logical arguments, etymology, and on and on. I'm particularly enthralled with fairy tales and mythology, and how those stories effect our social psychology. And, of course, computers.

I love organizing and finding new ways to be more efficient. I've narrowed "what I want to do when I grow up" down to being a professional organizer or an efficiency expert. I think my love for archology's stems from my love of efficiency. I really, REALLY want to live in an archology at some point in my life.

job description: I am a sys admin at a small ISP. Basically I keep our servers up and our clients happy, whatever it takes. This involves working with tech support, handling security issues, upgrades, patches, etc., acquisitions and procurement, and the judicious application of duct tape :)

I was recently thrust into the additional role of CEO, mostly 'cause no one else wanted it :)

career skills: Linux and BSD administration and kernel internals. Cisco, Riverstone, 3com, and HP networking equipment. And something most geeks are bad at, dealing with people.

career interests: Who knows anymore? I used to tell people I was a chem bio/comp sci major because I wanted to work on advanced bioimplants. Really, it's 'cause ever since I saw my first episode of ST:TNG, I wanted to eventually develop a android I could have sex with... I've recently decided I want to be a professional organizer when I grow up.

I'm really good at: organizing/cleaning, listening, reading, taking care of people/bunnies/children

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me: very shy, overweight (fat, not chubby), waist-length hair, ridiculously large breasts (H cups), very caring, great listener

body art: visible tattoo, pierced ears

turn ons:intelligence, long hair, sarcasm, thunderstorms

turn offs: not using turn signals, arrogance with nothing to back it up, smokers, liars

my idea of a perfect first date: Home Depot -> Taco bell -> lan party -> bar

from my past relationships i learned: I can live with anyone for 3 weeks. Anyone can be taught to be good in bed, but no one can be taught to be a decent person.

five things i can't live without: My SOs, my friends, my bunny, my computer, books

in my bedroom you will find:Hundreds of books, tons of electronics, my pet bunny's house, dozens of toys
